The Eheim Pro 3 Thermofilter - 2180 is a first class, high performance external canister filter designed for use in freshwater aquariums up to 320 gallons in size. Designed with fishkeepers in mind, this canister filter was constructed with a basic square shape to make it easier to fit into the corners of aquariums, helping to reduce wasted space, stand with more stability and offer greater filter volume.
But what really sets this unit apart from the competition is the fact that it is the only external canister filter in the entire world that features an powerful and effective integrated heating system. Boasting an exceptionally high quality heating element safely placed at the bottom of the filter, the unit will not only filter out impurities and detritus from the water, but will also circulate and heat the water to precisely the right temperature before returning it back into the aquarium. With the built in heater operating inside of the filter, the aquarium does not require an additional heater within tank. A large, easy to read LED display and temperature sensor shows the exact water temperature reading and allows exact adjustments between 18°C - 34°C, making it suitable for a wide range of freshwater aquarium applications.
The unit contains an exceptionally large filter volume with a high stability, providing ample room for mechanical, biological and chemical filter media to build up beneficial bacteria and clear the aquarium of discoloration, odors and organic particulate matter. The sizable prefilter helps to trap large particles, effectively lengthening the intervals between regular cleanings, preserving the life of other filter media as well as maintaining cleaner overall conditions in the tank. And the prefilter drip tray ensures "drip-free" carrying of the prefitler when cleaning. Additionally, the filter basket for the canister filter can be custom filled with media to suit your specific aquatic needs, and it is incredibly easy to remove and clean for hassle free maintenance!
For greater ease of use, the unit comes with a state of the art integrated self priming aid to fill the canister filter with water and initially prime the filter...just push a button and you are ready to go!
