Two Little Fishies Little Reactor
2-10 Days
The Little Reactor is designed with the upflow principle to achieve the most efficient use of Phosban or other chemical filter media. By pushing water from the bottom upward through a dispersion plate, it forces an even distribution of water through the media. Becuase of it's small size, the Little Reactor is ideal for use with Nano and Pico aquariums, and it fits perfectly in standard frag display tanks used at frag swaps.
Capacity: Use with up to 75 grams (145 ml) of Phosban, or media height of 1.5 inches (3.8 cm). Can be filled with up to 150 ml of activated carbon.
Aquarium size: Up to 50 gal (190 L). Multiple reactors may be used in parallel.
Recommended flow rate: For activated carbon and GFO including Phosban, 20 gal/hr (75 l/hr). Too much flow will grind friable media.
Connections for hoses: 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) i.d. The inlet and outlet flexible 90 degree fittings rotate to suit your installation.
Important notes: Do not place ball valve on exit pipe. Restricting flow on the exit pipe pressurizes the reactor and can cause leaks. Don't use a media bag in the Little Reactor inless media is too fine. Don't over-fill the column with GFO. Maximum 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) off GFO media. When using only activated carbon, the entire column can be filled and higher flow rates can be used. Phosban GFO may be mixed with phosphate-free activated carbon (HydroCarbon2 from Two Little Fishies) in a 50:50 ratio.
